I am a Christian Birth and Postpartum Doula, and Student Midwife in the state of Virginia, USA. I am located in Amelia, Va. About 40 miles west of Richmond.
I specialize in Natural Birth; and I've also assisted in Waterbirth, VBACs, homebirths, and a number of other different circumstances. I provide labor support in certian counties of Va: Farmville, Richmond, Amelia, Powhatan, Chester, and Lynchburg. I have attended over 30 births since last October, and I can provide references if you would like to talk to any of my past clients.
I wholeheartedly support natural childbirth, dad's involvement, and helping pregnant teen mothers- including single moms- to enjoy their own special birth experience. Currently, I'm volunteering my services at CHIP of Richmond, and also Crisis Pregnancy Centers/Pregnancy Support Centers here in Va.
I provide support during pregnancy, giving advice, answering questions. And helping both you, and any significant other/husband, if present. 2 weeks before your due date I'm available 24/7 for whenever you go into labor. Unlike a midwife, a doula is able to come just as soon as you need her. During the birth I'll bring support, comfort techniques, and counsel to you and your Husband/ significant other.There are many other things I can help you with before, during and after the birth for you and your family.
My dream was to be a midwife since I was five years old, and am so glad to be fulfilling my dream. Currently I'm enrolled in Charis Childbirth,(http://www.charischildbirth.org/) A Christian organization that trains and certifies Doulas, as well as prepares Student Midwives for the NARM exam.
